The Covid-19 Outbreak in the UK. The Impact of Public Health Security on Environmental Protection

ABSTRACT
This paper outlines the impact of Covid-19 on environmental policies in the United Kingdom. The first part is a survey on the measures implemented to cope with the Covid-19 emergency, also highlighting some emergency measures enforced by the Italian government. Then, it focuses on the impact of the COVID-19 emergency legislation on environmental and climate change policies and legislations, deal- ing with Brexit’s challenges for the UK environmental law. The conclusion highlights some of the main issues related to the emergency legislation and to the protection of fundamental human rights.
